Music Director

Alan Beyel

Alan holds a Bachelor and Master of Music degree from the Crane School of Music. He joined the church in the early 1980's and began conducting the choir in 1984. As Music Director, he enjoys finding creative ways to use music to enhance and inspire the worship of our congregation.

Organist

Marion Smith

My husband, Charlie, and I have been members of MFPC for about 40 years. We raised our three daughters here in this church.  I have sung in the choir here for as many years and occasionally subbed at the organ for our long-time organist, Vicky Clark.  She was also kind enough to give me a few organ lessons!  I took over as organist about two and a half years ago.  It has been a challenge but one that I have thoroughly enjoyed.  I am learning more every day.  It has been especially therapeutic during the Covid pandemic.  I have loved sacred music my whole life and it is a real privilege to be able to play here in this church.

Part-Time Piano Accompanist

Colin Arnett

I have been attending the Marcellus First Presbyterian Church for as long as I can remember. All the way from Sunday school to becoming a member to being an employee. Some of my fondest memories are from this church and attending church every Sunday has played a big part in turning me into who I am today. I am incredibly grateful to be able to play piano for the church and especially with the church choir. Working with Alan and the choir has been a tremendous learning experience for me, and has helped me discover how enjoyable accompanying can be. I look forward to all of the memories I have yet to make and things I still have to learn.
