What makes grown-ups cranky?

Saturday, May 11, 2019 – 10:00 – 11:30 AM – Fireside Room

Led by Dr. Ginny Smith

Please join us Saturday, May 11, 2019, as we continue exploring how Scripture guides us in living our lives in what can be a confusing and debilitating world.  Brian D. McLaren’s book, We Make the Road by Walking has proven to be an excellent guide in helping us dig deeper into what can often be unfamiliar territory.

On May 11 we’ll take a look at chapter 30, “WHY WE WORRY, WHY WE JUDGE” and be guided by Jesus’ teachings in Matthew 6:19-7:12.  So many people, and perhaps you’re one of them, live lives filled with stress and anxiety, not knowing how or what to do to relieve them.  At the beginning of this chapter, Brian McLaren has this to say: “Wise parents soon learn what makes their kids cranky: not getting enough sleep, too much sugar, being hungry, not getting time alone, too much time alone, lack of stimulation, too much stimulation.  Have you ever wondered what makes grown-ups cranky?”

It should be an interesting discussion about what turns us as adults into dismal grouches and keeps us from enjoying life to the full.

We will continue our conversations in the fall on September 14, October 19, November 9. And December 14.

               ALL ARE WELCOME!
