A Church for All People

Saturday, October 19, 2019 – 10:00 – 11:30 AM – Fireside Room

Led by Dr. Ginny Smith

Seeking Wisdom will gather once again on Saturday, October 19, 2019.  Please consider being a part of this Bible study experience, when we will be exploring how Scripture guides us in living faithful and loving lives in what can be a confusing, debilitating, and unforgiving world.  Brian D. McLaren’s book, We Make the Road by Walking has proven to be an excellent guide in helping us dig deeper into what can often be unfamiliar territory.  You can purchase this book on Amazon if you do not have a copy.

On October 19, we’ll take a look at chapter 40, “The Spirit Is Moving,” and chapter 41, “Moving With the Spirit” to get a fresh perspective on how the Holy Spirit is active in our lives.

“The wind can be blowing, but if your sail isn’t raised, you won’t get far.  You can be surrounded by oxygen, but if you don’t breathe, it won’t do you any good.  The sap can be flowing, but if a branch isn’t connected to the vine, it will wither.  If you don’t have kindling and wood in your hearth, a lit match won’t burn long.  It’s the same with the Spirit.  We are surrounded with the aliveness of the Spirit.  All that remains is for us to learn how to let the Spirit fill, flow, and glow within us.”

Christians have a crucial responsibility to bring new life and love into the world.  Let’s come together to reflect on God’s Word so that we can find ways to open to God’s Spirit guiding us.  Please read the Scripture passages and book chapters ahead of time.

To help you plan ahead, here are future meeting datesNovember 9, and December 14, 2019; January 11, February 8, March 14, April 18, May 16, and June 13, 2020.

Please invite neighbors and friends who might be interested.  ALL ARE WELCOME!
