The Spirit Conspiracy and The Spirit of Power

I can’t imagine this quote not getting you to think or at least scratching your head a little.

Sooner or later, everyone should be arrested and imprisoned for a good cause.  Or if not arrested and imprisoned, put in a position of suffering and sacrifice.  Or if not that, at least be criticized or inconvenienced a little.  Because if we’re coconspirators with the Spirit of God to bring a blessing to our world, sooner or later it’s going to cost us something and get us in trouble.”

When “Seeking Wisdom” meets on Saturday, March 14, 2020, from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM with Dr. Ginny Smith in the Fireside Room, we’re going to be talking about what this paragraph is saying to us and how God is inviting us to conspire with the Spirit to serve through grace and humility.

Brian D. McLaren’s book, We Make the Road by Walking, has proven to be an excellent guide in helping us dig deeper into what the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments mean for our lives today.  You can find the book (new and used) on Amazon, but feel free to come even if you don’t have a copy.  We’re really good at sharing!

We’ll be taking a look at chapter 47, “The Spirit Conspiracy” and chapter 48, The Spirit of Power,  to get a fresh perspective on how the Holy Spirit is active in and through our lives

As Christians, we have a responsibility to bring new life and love into the world.   We have been blessed to be a blessing.  By coming together to reflect on God’s Word, we find ways to be open to God’s Spirit already guiding us.

To help you plan, here are future meeting dates: April 18, May 16, and June 13, 2020.

Please invite neighbors and friends who might be interested.  ALL ARE WELCOME!
