Who We Are Today

Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, we invite you to join us in creating a more loving, accepting, caring and inviting Christian community of faith. Today, we are a community of faith gathering to worship, to connect with each other, to grow in our faith and to put our faith into action.

CONNECT

  • We are all seeking some kind of connection, whether it is the chance to be still and connect to our own beliefs and faith, or to connect with others. MFPC facilitates these connections and relationships through its worship services, social and educational events, volunteer and service opportunities.  At MFPC we are reminded that we are all part of something greater than just ourselves.

GROW

  • Growth is a lifelong process and we do our best to facilitate that at MFPC. Through thought-provoking sermons and educational programs for youth and adults, we meet people where they are and encourage spiritual exploration and growth. Our goal is not to tell you what to believe, but to accompany you on your faith journey, wherever it may lead you.

SERVE

  • At MFPC, we believe that we are meant to live out our faith in the world. We are very active in mission projects that give each one of us the chance to make a difference. This ranges from housing and operating the local ecumenical food pantry in Marcellus, to providing sandwiches for the Sts. Peter and John Episcopal Church soup kitchen and community outreach program in Auburn, supporting the Sleep In Heavenly Peace program in Syracuse, supporting the clothes closet at Weedsport Presbyterian Church and everything in between.

Worship is a participatory experience.  Lay-people are actively involved – welcoming everyone to worship, reading Scripture and sharing the Minute for Mission, among other activities. We celebrate Communion both in the traditional method of members being served in the pews by Elders and by coming forward to the communion table to receive the elements by intinction.

We have a small but active youth ministry and involve the youth in many ways including a weekly children’s message, an annual Youth Sunday, when the children prepare and deliver the entire service and an annual Christmas pageant.

Our wonderful music program enhances our weekly worship with special anthems, many of them written by our Music Director, Alan Beyel.  Our “Presbyterian Band” joins the chorus of praise on special occasions, such as Easter and Christmas.

We hope that you will join us.  Our goal is to experience God in different ways and to get everyone involved.  You are welcome here!
